With more and more resources like this new bike sharing program, the car sharing that already exists in Denver and decent (yet improving) public transportation, the need to own a vehicle for urban-dwellers is diminishing by the day. We are a two-car household, but we are looking at making that one car, plus a scooter and a couple of bikes. We’ll see how that goes!

Referencing a recent study, Butler points out that a life built on optimism tends to be a healthier one than the lives of the pessimists among us. As a long-time optimist, I’m happy to hear that I will likely be healthier and wealthier than my “Negative Nelly” counterparts.

John always has his pulse on the latest technologies, not just for use by individuals, but specifically how they can be used by Small Businesses. In this case, Foursquare is a company that uses games and social media connectivity to encourage users to let their friends know where they are. From a business standpoint, by letting customers “check in”, you can provide real-time discounts and promotions (and get the word out that people are at your establishment). Cool stuff, we’ll have to check this out.
